Authentic Indian Street Food at Wembley Park Sunday Market

On Sunday, we had a lovely family lunch at the new weekly shopping attraction at Wembley Park in North West London. The new Wembley Park markets offer a fun-filled day out for the whole family.

You can choose from a weekly Sunday market at Olympic Way, monthly Art, antiques and vintage market at Wembley Park Boulevard, and Christmas market with festive produce and ice rink outside London Designer Outlet from November.

When we arrived at the Sunday market, we noticed the wide range of carefully selected stalls, including local business, up and coming entrepreneurs and established traders.

Whether you are visiting for food, shopping or entertainment, you will be spoiled by choice. There are several food stalls, including authentic Indian street food, Caribbean, Asian, Greek, traditional burgers and hot dogs, and even a Lithuanian food stall.

After walking around the market, we stopped for lunch at Turban Street, offering freshly made roomali roti. We had pulled lamb kati, slow cooked leg of lamb marinated with yogurt and spices, it was delicious.

The pulled Tandoori chicken sandwich was equally nice, Tandoori chicken breast, tossed on the tawa with homemade masala, seasoned with fresh coriander and finished with cheese.

Although the kati rolls were lovely and full of flavour, it was a little too spicy for little man, so he tried a cheeseburger instead, with a colourful slush puppy. He really enjoyed his meal, and so did hubby and I.

We really enjoyed our family lunch, but if you are after something quick, you can stop by the cake stalls and pick one of their mouth-watering creations to go. We saw plenty of beautifully decorated cakes and cupcakes, they would go nicely with a cup of tea.

We are looking forward to going back to the Sunday market and trying other food stalls. We are also counting the days for the Christmas market and ice rink launch on 14th November.
