Bathroom Interior Design Trends for 2015
Your bathroom needs to be a place you are not only comfortable in and proud to point guests in the direction of, but with such an investment, you also have to know you will be happy with the room for years to come.
There’s no better feeling than having a satisfying bath in a stylish room that you feel completely relaxed in. Bathroom designers and bathroom appliance manufacturers have really moved with the times to produce rooms that are amongst the most elegant in a lot of households. Here are some trends to look out for in 2015.
Colour Trends
Pastel Colours reminiscent of 1980s LA, warm olive rust and dusty mint tones and deep blues seen in the Greek Mediterranean are all colour schemes that have been tipped to be big in 2015. There are various ways you can bring colour into your bathroom.
A colourful mosaic wall can combine your chosen tones, a bold feature wall provides a nice vibrant focal point or, if you would prefer to go for natural colours, oak or walnut units and mirror frames can look very tasteful. An important point to remember when choosing your bathroom’s colour palette is to consider the amount of light the room gets. Many bathrooms have limited lighting and benefit from softer, more neutral tones.
Bathroom Appliances
Soaking Tubs
Soaking tubs, such as Japanese-style models, are on the must-have bathroom appliances for 2015. Soaking tubs are deeper than the average bath and allow you to sit up and relax in a beautifully designed model. There are a range of styles available, from barrel-look tubs to exquisite cedar wood designs.
Legged Sinks
In contrast to the common unit mounted sink or other fitted designs, sinks with metallic or porcelain legs will emerge as favourites amongst homeowners in the year ahead. These designs can give the impression of more space in cosier bathrooms and give opportunities for different types of under-sink storage.
Rainshowers
Rainshowers, in a variety of styles are available from popular brands such as Ideal Standard. People are no longer satisfied with showers that don’t give a powerful cloudburst of water every morning to wake them up.
Bathroom Accessories
DAB Shower Radio
Water resistant digital radios are on the verge of being breaking out to be seen all over the high street with brands such as Roberts making a line in shower (or pool-side) friendly units to enable you to enjoy your favourite stations anywhere.
Living Wall
This is a great way to bring nature into your bathroom without taking up valuable floor space. A living wall features low-maintenance plants potted in shallow pots and bags which can hang on your wall.
Styles
Clean Contemporary
In terms of overall bathroom styles, contemporary clean designs will make a comeback in 2015 after this year’s penchant for more rustic aesthetics.
Glass and Marble
Combinations of glass and marble tiles efficiently follow the trends of delivering clean and crisp modern style whilst providing a light and spacious atmosphere.
