Christmas Family Board Game: Ravensburger Santa’s Rooftop Scramble

Only a few weeks to Christmas, and I bet Santa must be really busy getting himself organised. Little man is counting the days, he can’t wait to open the first door of his advent calendar tomorrow.

I have been trying to explain to little man that it must be hard being Santa, having to remember what every child has asked for Christmas and delivering all before the big day. I don’t think he realised what it was like, until we started playing Ravensburger Santa’s Rooftop Scramble.

Ravensburger Santa’s Rooftop Scramble is a great family board game, suitable for children aged 5 years old and above. It can be played by 2 to 6 players.

The box comes with game board and die, 6 Santa playing pieces, 36 Letter to Santa cards, 36 transport cards, 28 surprise cards, 65 present tokens, spinner board and 3 rooftop cards.

In the game, players compete in the role of Santa by reading the letters to Santa, making a list of presents, going to the elves workshop to load the sack, then scramble across the rooftops in a race to become the first Santa to complete the task of delivering all the presents to the right house.

The game starts by distributing the Letter to Santa cards to the players, then taking turns to spin the spinner to take a present token for each child on the list. Once the player has gathered all of the presents on their list, they can start trying to deliver them by throwing the die and moving clockwise around the board.

Once you have landed on the right house number, you should drop the present token down the slot in the rooftop in the box.

The game is easy to play and lots of fun. The aim of the game is to be the first Santa to deliver all the presents. It relies mostly on luck, as there are stumbling blocks along the way, you might land on Pass a Present space, Surprise space, Transport space or Late Letter space.

We enjoying playing Ravensburger Santa’s Rooftop Scramble and racing around the board to deliver the presents, and I can see us playing it several times in the countdown to Christmas. It’s a lovely family board game and it will definitely get you in the festive spirit.

Ravensburger Santa’s Rooftop Scramble is available at major retailers at RRP £19.99, and £14.99 on Amazon.
