Tuna Meatballs Pasta Recipe
I enjoy tuna sandwich and tuna pasta, but lately I’ve been experimenting with tuna and enjoying it in different ways. A few days ago, I shared our Tex-Mex Tuna Burgers Recipe, very easy and quick dish that was thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family.
We also made meatballs out of tuna, and they were so tasty. Before those recipes, I had no idea it was possible to create so many dishes with tuna, so it was a pleasant surprise.
The tuna meatballs were enjoyed with pasta in tomato sauce with oregano, and a handful of rocket. They were delicious and easy to make.
I really enjoyed making both recipes and I am now thinking what I could make next with tuna… Any suggestions?

- 2 cans of tuna chunks, we used Princes Tuna
- 1 onion, chopped
- 100g breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Oil, to shallow fry
- 400g pasta
- 500g tomato passata
- oregano, to taste
- rocket, to serve
- Drain the tuna and tip into a bowl. Add the onions, breadcrumbs, egg, salt and pepper, and mix well using your hands, until the mixture is completely combined.
- Mould the mixture into around 12 meatballs, the same size of a walnut.
- Put a large pan of salted water on to boil, then cook the pasta according to pack instructions, and drain.
- Heat a little oil in a large non-stick frying pan, then fry the tuna meatballs for 3-5 minutes, turning them around every minute, until golden.
- Pour over the tomato passata and oregano, and cook for another 5 minutes, until the sauce is bubbling.
- Pour the tomato sauce and tuna meatballs over the pasta and enjoy with some rocket.
