I am a big fan of sweet bread, especially Panettone and brioche. I have recently shared how I have been learning to make panettone and getting into the Christmas spirit.

I was brought up eating panettone in Brazil during the festive period, so it is a must-have for us. I have been making panettone in the gorgeous Panasonic SD-ZB2502XBC Breadmaker, a very useful and easy to use bread maker.

It is perfect for busy families, like ours, that enjoy delicious freshly baked bread and home baking in general. Little man is over the moon that we can make panettone and brioche whenever we want to.

The revolutionary Panasonic SD-ZB2502XBC Breadmaker is much more than just a bread maker, it also makes jams, cakes and compotes. I have never had a bread maker before, but found the instructions very easy to understand and was making fresh bread within a few minutes of opening the box.

I love the fact there is a 13-hour delay, so you can add the ingredients before going to bed, and wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread. If you are in a rush, there is a rapid bake option which produces a loaf of bread in two hours. Yum!

The compact bread maker is easy to use, it comes with a measuring cup and spoon, and full instructions guide with easy to follow recipes. You can choose to make and bake the bread in the machine, or simply make and prove the dough, and cook in the oven.

I have tried both options, and the results were great every time. I simply measured the ingredients straight in the non-stick bread pan, following the order, selected the right setting and could carry on doing other things while the bread maker was left to knead, prove and bake the loaf.

In the control panel, you can choose loaves for specific dietary requirements, such as gluten free, high fibre and low salt.  You can choose the size of your loaf, from medium, large and extra large, and type of crust from light, medium and dark. It also comes with a serrated paddle for rye loaves, and a standard paddle for other types of bread.

Apart from panettone, you can also make pizza dough, French and Italian breads, whole wheat, 100% gluten-free bread. The jam and compote mode is ideal for easy preparation of spreads.

The unique yeast dispenser ensures that yeast is added at the optimal time, while the handy raisin and nut dispenser adds the ingredients effortlessly when required. The unique non-stick bread pan and kneading blade are coated with diamond particles, so the bread can be easily removed, it is tough and scratchproof.

For some recipes, like the panettone recipe, you need to go back to the breadmaker when it beeps to add more butter, it stops for a few minutes, then carries on. I actually forgot once to add extra butter and the panettone was just as nice.
