Getting Fit: Protein-Packed Smoothie Recipe
I can’t believe it’s been over six weeks since I started going to the gym. I must say I am really enjoying it, even more than I thought I would be. I’ve been sharing my progress in the new launched Getting Fit feature.
Since I started working out, I have been trying to include more protein in my diet. Not only protein is crucial for muscle recovery after exercise, it also helps to regulate appetite and cravings by enhancing the feeling of fullness for longer.
We all know the importance of eating a balanced diet, consisting of healthy meals and snacks. Smoothies are quick to make, great as a filling snack, quick breakfast on the go or post-workout drink. I love the fact they are versatile and you can add anything you fancy.
This smoothie contains nuts, seeds, tofu and Lactofree milk, which are sources of protein. One portion has around 20g of protein and 7g fibre. It is naturally sweet as it has strawberries, banana and raspberries, while the almonds add a lovely nutty flavour to it.
