Protecting Your Future and Monica Galetti’ Saving Story
We all know how important it is to put some money aside, whether you are saving to make a big purchase, your next family holiday, your first home or simply saving for rainy days.
I am aware saving is sometimes easier said than done, as spending money on clothes and gadgets looks so tempting. I would like to think that we wouldn’t come across any emergencies in the near future, but they usually arrive when you least expect.
The latest campaign of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, FSCS, ‘Protecting Your Future’ highlights the importance of the protection offered by the service. New Zealand chef Monica Galetti is one of the personalities helping to raise awareness of the free and automatic protection, backed by the Government.
I must confess I had no idea that any savings up to £86k are automatically protected by the FSCS. Should anything happen to your bank, building society or credit union, you don’t even need to do anything, you would automatically have your money back within seven days.
No matter how rich or poor you are, we all need to look after our future and savings. It is reassuring to know that our hard-earned savings are FSCS protected.
In the video below, Monica Galetti talks about her childhood, explaining how she started saving, mentioning her story moving to London and working as a chef. The video emphasizes that we all need to think smart and plan for the future, safe in the knowledge that the FSCS is there to protect our money.
What are you saving for? Perhaps your next holiday? Next big purchase?
This post has been written in collaboration with FSCS, however the opinions expressed in this post are honest and my own.
