Frozen Mojito Recipe & What is your favourite #TravelbagCaribbeanCocktails?
I must confess I really like sipping cocktails and creating new combination of flavours. I believe cocktails should be enjoyed all year round. In the summer, I enjoy a refreshing Raspberry and Orange Earl Grey Gin Cocktail, while in the winter I prefer Christmas-inspired gin cocktails, such as Spiced Apple and Orange Cocktail.
Travelbag, one of the UK’s top online travel agents, who specialise in luxury holidays across the world, has launched Cocktails of the Caribbean e-book with delicious recipes.
I tried the Mojito recipe from Cuba, giving it my own twist. I used lots of ice in order to make it into a Frozen Mojito. Instead of serving in a tall glass, as usual, the Frozen Mojito is best served on a cocktail glass.
Frozen Mojito Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Bacardi light rum
- ½ lime juice (about 4 wedges)
- 12 fresh mint leaves
- 2 tsp sugar
- Lots of ice
Method:
Add the rum, lime juice, fresh mint leaves and sugar to a blender. Add lots of ice and blend until the ice has been crushed. Serve in a cocktail glass and garnish with mint springs. Enjoy immediately.
The Frozen Mojito is so refreshing, I could just picture myself enjoying it in the sunshine in Cuba!
Travelbag has launched a Caribbean Cocktail Competition, in which you are required to name your very own exotic cocktail and let them know which Caribbean country you would like to enjoy it in. Three winners will receive a Magimix Blender, just like the one I used for the Frozen Mojito recipe.
In order to be in with the chance to win, you must post on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, including the competition hashtag #TravelbagCaribbeanCocktails by 28th May.
