Top Tips for a Magical Playdate #MagicSquaresPlaydates

Little man loves playdates, there is nothing like getting together with his friends for a fun afternoon. No matter the weather, they always have a great time, laughing and enjoying themselves.

As parents, we want the best for our children, and we often forget that they don’t need a lot to have fun, and it is possible to have a magical playdate, which is also budget-friendly. They are happy with whatever they are given and love using their imagination.

Top Tip 1: Let them use their imagination with arts and crafts

Arts and Crafts

Arts and crafts are a success in playdates and a great way to explore little one’s imaginative side. Instead of purchasing expensive craft kits, you could make your own out of empty boxes and any spare crafting material you have around the house.

There is nothing more enjoyable than watching little ones being creative and using empty boxes to create masterpieces. It is amazing what they can make out of cardboard boxes and empty cereal boxes. It could be anything from spaceships and robots, to boats and towers. They could pretend they are out in the sea sailing, or they are knights for the day.

Top Tip 2:  Get Creative with Food

Decorating Biscuits

Little ones also enjoy getting creative with food, and decorating their own biscuits is an enjoyable way to craft. They love taking part and eating the fruit of their labour at the end of the playdate. You simply need plain biscuits, such as digestives and shortbread, and a selection of icing pens.

Ice Cream Sandwiches

Another idea is to make ice cream sandwiches, a perfect way to cool down in a hot summer’s day. Little ones can make sandwiches out of biscuits and waffles, and use ice cream and sprinkles as fillings of their sandwiches.

Top Tip 3: Get Messy

Water Balloons

There is nothing wrong with getting messy, so why not create water balloons and splash in the garden when the weather is nice? You simply need some balloons and remind the other kids to bring a spare change of clothes to the playdate.

Hand prints

If the weather is not warm enough for water balloons, you could make hand prints. You simply need blank canvas and a range of colours. You could also make handprint cards for the children to take home as a keepsake from the playdate.

Top Tip 4: Delicious Snacks

Magic Squares 4

Once the kids have had fun, they will be hungry. They would love the new Petit Filous Magic Squares, available in strawberry & vanilla flavour and raspberry & vanilla flavour. Not only they are delicious, they are also a source of calcium and vitamin D for strong bones.

Magic Squares Little man loves mixing the flavours and guessing which ones he is having. Once it’s finished, instead of throwing the yoghurt pots away, you could plant herbs and send them home with the children.
