What you should consider when choosing a double glazing installer
It is well-known that double glazing improves thermal and acoustic insulation, and I can say it is a must-have when you have young children. Apart from keeping your home warmer in the colder months as nearly 20% of heat can be lost through windows in uninsulated homes, it also helps to reduce noise.
When we bought our house, it came with double glazed windows and I instantly noticed the difference in noise levels when we moved in, as our previous place had single glazed windows. Little man is very curious and, although he sleeps well through the night from a very young age, it usually takes him a long time to fall asleep as any little noise can delay it.
By reducing sounds entering the house and making the room quieter, I have noticed that little man falls asleep quicker. From our own experience, I can say that double glazing is a godsend, however you should consider carefully when looking for an installer.
Accreditations and guarantees:
You should make sure the company has accreditations from recognised accreditors from the glazing industry and offer guarantees for a hassle-free experience. You should look for an established company, such as 4 Seasons, double glazing installers in Romford, which are fully vetted DGCOS installers, offering protection during sales and installation.
By contracting an accredited member of the Double Glazing & Conservatory Ombudsman Scheme (DGCOS), you know that you will be protected should anything go wrong.
Case studies:
Not only case studies show what the company is capable of, they can also give you inspiration for your home improvements. As an example, I would love a conservatory and usually associate conservatories with children’s play area.
However, by looking at the previous work at Mr and Mrs Stow’s house, I was inspired to use a conservatory as a dining room, which makes perfect sense to enjoy a family meal in a bright, well-lit room, while looking at the garden.
Independent Reviews:
Last but not least, reading independent reviews is very important when choosing a double glazing installer. I always read independent reviews before contracting a company. Firstly because I want to read about previous customers’ experiences and find out how the service was carried out. Furthermore, I want to know whether they had any problems, whether they would use the company again and if they are happy to recommend to others.
I’ve checked 4 Seasons profile on Checkatrade and I was very impressed with the results of the independent reviews: high scores on reliability and timekeeping, tidiness, courtesy, workmanship and invoice charged as per quote.
