Let’s talk PANTS with Pantosaurus #TalkPANTS
We all know it is very important to keep children safe. We always make sure we hold our children’s hands when crossing the road, we tell them not to speak to strangers and we protect them from any danger.
However sometimes we might not know how to approach our little ones and talk about serious issues, such as child abuse.
Luckily the NSPCC launched a fun campaign to help parents like you and me, aiming to start the conversation and help keep children safe from abuse.
The animated video with the character Pantosaurus, launched to coincide with the summer holidays, teaches young children about the Underwear Rule in a fun way.
Little man watched the animation and understood clearly what he should do if someone asked to see their private parts. We might have spoken about it briefly before in the past, but no in depth.
I loved the fact the cool video with dinosaurs encouraged us to talk about child abuse and what little man should do in case someone is asking him to do anything inappropriate. We then had a conversation about the Underwear Rule:
- Privates are private
- Always remember your body belongs to you
- No means no
- Talk about secrets that upset you
- Speak up, someone can help
