Making the Most of the Weekend with a Picnic!

We had such a fantastic summer holiday and miss spending quality time together, exploring nature. Although we are now back to routine, we are still trying to make the most of our time and be outdoors as much as possible.

Luckily the weather collaborated, so this weekend we had a lovely picnic, full of healthy treats. Little man’s favourite picnic location is a place which he calls “my secret garden”.

It looks more like a little forest with trees and bushes and it’s where we usually go for our delicious picnics.

As soon as I told him we would be going there, he had a big smile on his face. Little man loves pizza, so we made some muffin pizzas with tomato sauce, sweetcorn, mushroom and cheese, sprinkled with oregano. After a few minutes under the grill, the cheese melted and we were ready to leave the house.

We took a selection of finger food, including cherry tomatoes, cucumber and carrots. Fruit was also on the menu, green and red grapes with strawberries. Yeo Valley has a wide selection of kids’ organic yogurts and we tried some on our picnic.

Little Yeos Fruity Favourites Yogurt is thick and creamy, containing real fruit puree and nothing artificial. The organic yogurt is blended with a smooth fruit puree and available in strawberry, raspberry, peach and apricot flavours. They were simply delicious!

We loved our picnic, the food was delicious and we had a great time together! While we were there, we played I spy, one of little man’s favourite games and a great game to explore the surroundings.

Where do you usually go for your picnics? What do you usually take?
