Join McDonald’s Fundraising Day this Saturday 22nd October
Little man looks forward to his weekly trip to McDonald’s after school on Fridays. As long as he’s had a good week, tried his best and worked hard, he will be enjoying a happy meal followed by a McFlurry – in his words “it’s the highlight of my week”.
This week he won’t be going to McDonald’s on Friday, not because of any misbehaviour, but we will be going on Saturday instead.
We will be joining the fundraising day for the charity Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) on 22nd October, taking place at McDonald’s restaurants around the UK to raise as much money as possible.
The day will be ‘jungle’ themed and adorable jungle-themed cuddly toys will be on sale for only £2.50, with 100% of all proceeds going towards the charity. Last year McDonald’s raised £3.9m raised in-store and via the donations box.
In case you are not aware, there are currently 14 Ronald McDonald Houses in the UK and the charity desperately needs fundraising support to contribute towards the funds needed over the next few years to open four new Houses across the UK. The charity has been helping families for over 25 years; providing free family accommodation at NHS hospitals and support.
The video from celebrity dad and ‘Help Us Keep Families Close’ campaign ambassador Jeff Brazier shows a real-life case, in which a family was helped by the charity. Many families have to travel long distances so that their children can get the specialist or intensive care they need. Families who are looked after by RMHC can stay in the houses completely free of charge, for as long as they need.
