Top Tips to Brighten Up Your Home

The temperature has risen slightly this week however it is still dull and grey outside. Although summer seems to be so far away, you can brighten up your living space and add a touch of sunshine with a few simple changes.

I am a true believer that small changes can make a big difference, so you have nothing to worry about as those changes won’t cost you much.

Colourful Accessories

Changing accessories can instantly brighten the room. Whether it’s adding a couple of bold cushions to the living room, bright curtains to the bedroom or new QAZQA lamp to the dining room, accessories are an easy and affordable way to add a touch of colour to a room.

Declutter

As the years go by, we tend to add more to our home, but you don’t need to wait until the next season to do a spring clean. Declutter anything you don’t need and rearrange the furniture, to make the most of the space.

Fresh Flowers

Flowers and house plants are easy to maintain and quickly add a touch of colour to any room. Whether you prefer to pick up a bunch of flowers with your weekly grocery shopping or to look after a house plant, you will certainly enjoy the brightening effect.

Mirrors

Mirrors are great to reflect light and make rooms look bigger than they actually are. You can simply add a mirror to the wall, mirrored coasters or photo frames to add light and space. For maximum effect, add mirrored surfaces close to windows and lights. If your room is dark, consider adding a wall QAZQA lamp from Lamp and Light to make it brighter.

Paint

If the walls are getting dirty and scruffy, it might be the right time to add a lick of paint. Once you have children, their little fingerprints seem to get everywhere. For this reason, we try to paint every couple of years to keep our home looking fresh and sharp. Painting can truly transform a room and white paint is known to make spaces look bigger and brighter.
