Pizza Making Party at @PizzaExpress

A few days ago, I attended a pizza making party at Pizza Express. I love pizza and I love parties, so you can imagine how much fun I had. The evening started with a glass of prosecco, followed by nibbles.

Pizza making party usually lasts for 2 and half hours, filled with fun, games and competitions. Once all the guests had arrived, we moved to a separate area at the Gloucester Road restaurant, where we learnt how to open up our dough and toss it in the air.

Our party host Gianmaria explained that we would be taking part in a competition for the best pizza, don’t give up your job and biggest pizza dough tosser.

As soon as he mentioned, I got my hopes up for the best pizza certificate, I even called my creation “samba-tastic”, hoping to add a touch of my Brazilian roots to the competition.

I really enjoyed creating my own pizza from the selection of fresh ingredients. One side of my pizza was the “samba” side, with spicy sausage, pepperoni, chicken and ham, sprinkled with mozzarella.

The other side was the “fantastic” side, with a generous helping of goat cheese, red onions and black olives, topped with mozzarella.

Once our pizzas were ready, we sat down to enjoy our creations. The flavours were delicious from both sides of the pizza.

What a fantastic evening, thoroughly enjoyed. However I must confess I wasn’t great at stretching the dough and ended up making a hole in the middle of the dough.

I think they must have noticed as I won “don’t give up your day job” certificate!

Just wanted to say thank you so much to the Pizza Express team at Gloucester Road for such a fantastic evening, with especial thanks to manager Alex and Gianmaria.
