Salter Cook Bluetooth Kitchen Scale and Thermometer & Mozzarella and Basil Stuffed Chicken Recipe

As a mum, I am constantly looking for ideas to make mealtimes more exciting and fun for the whole family. Luckily little man is not a fussy eater, he eats a variety of fruit and vegetables and, like other mums from the Plate Pressure research commissioned by Salter, I also believe that it is important that children experience a wide variety of food.

Being a working mum can be challenging sometimes, as all of a sudden, the day has gone by the time you blink. Just like 92% of British mums, I also agree that time and convenience are essential when planning meals for our little ones.

Parents face a lot of pressure when cooking for our children, as we want to create nutritious and healthy meals, which are quick and easy to make.

The Salter Cook App

As much as I like trying new recipes, somehow I manage to forget key ingredients and, by the time I realise, it might be too late to rescue the dish. Luckily, Salter, the UK’s number 1 brand for domestic weighting scales, has launched the Salter Cook App, which is a great help for busy parents, together with the Bluetooth kitchen scale and thermometer.

I have been using the Salter Cook app for inspiration and also as a personal cookbook. Not only can you search through Salter recipes, you can also add recipes from your favourite websites.

I haven’t made stuffed chicken in a while so I thought I would recreate the blue-cheese stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon recipe. Once I saved it in the Salter Cook app, I could edit the recipe and swap the blue-cheese filling for mozzarella and basil.

Following the recipe through the app is extremely easy as measurements from the scale and thermometer are displayed on the app. In case you would like to make more or less portions than the recipe, you can adjust the ingredients accordingly.

My favourite feature is crossing off ingredients and steps from the method as you go along. I tend to forget to season my dishes, so having the option to mark each ingredient definitely makes it easier.

The timer is very handy as you can easily set it by clicking on the time from the recipe on the app. It lets you know once your recipe is ready, even if you are no longer using your device.

The Salter Cook Bluetooth Kitchen Scale

Little man enjoys helping in the kitchen and I believe that children are more likely to eat a variety of food if they are involved in the cooking process. One of his favourite tasks is to weigh ingredients and we both found the weighing process straightforward using the Salter Cook Bluetooth kitchen scale.

The kitchen scale is easy to read on the LCD display and also through the app. You can easily add ingredients and measure them separately through the use of the ‘zero’ function between ingredients. It is also very easy to switch between units, whether you need to measure liquid and solid ingredients in metric or imperial units.

The Salter Cook Bluetooth Thermometer

Once all the ingredients were measured, it was time to start cooking. I used the Salter Cook Bluetooth thermometer to keep track of the temperature of the oven and let me know once it was ready to put the chicken in.

There are two probes in the thermometer, one to check the temperature of food, such as meat and jams, and another to be placed inside the oven. I really like the fact that both probes can be used at the same time as there is a different display on the app for each of them.
