Celebrate National Curry Week with Iceland
Did you know it is National Curry Week, as well as National Chocolate Week?
This week only, Iceland has a fantastic offer to help us celebrate National Curry Week, from the comfort of our own home, without any hassle. You get a free pack of pilau rice when you buy any two Indian Takeaway curries.
When I visited my local store, I was delighted with the wide range of curry dishes on offer, from mild to spicy. You will be able to find all your favourite curries, such as chicken tikka masala, chicken jalfrezi, chicken bhuna, chicken mandras and garlic chilli chicken balti.
I am more a chicken korma kind of girl, while hubby prefers a more spicy option, such as beef mandras. Little man also likes chicken korma, so we went for Iceland Takeaway Chicken Korma.
We both enjoyed the delicious chicken cooked in creamy coconut sauce, flavoured with coriander and green cardamon. It was very delicious!
Hubby went for Iceland Takeaway Beef Mandras, tender beef cooked in a spicy onion and tomato curry sauce. He said that the flavours of the spicy curry went well with the sweet mango chutney. I tried some of it and liked it, although mild and creamy curries are my favourite.
The pilau rice complemented the dishes beautifully. The Basmati rice with cumin seeds was perfect with the curries. We also bought sides from Iceland, such as naan bread, poppadoms and mango chutney.
To accompany our meal, I had a go at making Bombay potatoes for the first time and I was quite surprised by them. I will try the recipe a couple more times, in order to make sure it is perfected, and I will be sharing it on the blog.
We absolutely loved celebrating National Curry Week with Iceland and I am definitely using the free rice offer with two curries as an excuse to go back this week for more curry! Not only is the range delicious, it is very affordable too.
What is your favourite curry?
