Delicious Family Meal at Wahlburgers in Covent Garden
We treasure our family meals; it’s the perfect opportunity to sit down together after a busy day. When we found out about Wahlburgers opening its first store outside North America, we were keen to go down to Covent Garden to try it out.
Wahlburgers was founded in Octbober 2011 in Hingham, Massachussetts, by Executive Chef Paul Wahlberg, brothers Mark and Donnie. It is a great place to have a delicious family meal together.
When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly staff and given a colouring pack and balloons, which was a success with the boys. The menu offers a range of signature recipe burgers, hot sandwiches, salads, desserts and much more.
For starters, we shared a selection of dishes, such as crispy potato coated calamari, tossed with rocket and roasted red peppers, served with balsamic tartar. We also chose buffalo chicken wings tossed in sriracha buffalo sauce, served with julienne celery, carrots, pickled red onions and blue cheese sauce.
The chilli and cheese nachos were a success with everyone. Drizzled with Wahl sauce, the nachos were loaded with salsa, sour cream, guacamole, shredded cheddar, cheese sauce, house made chilli and jalapenos. The halloumi fries with orange cranberry puree were very tasty!
For main course, you can choose from Wahlbowls and rice bowls, fresh salads, mac and cheese, fish and chips, cottage pie, barbeque ribs, homemade cod cakes, burgers and sandwiches.
We went for Smahlburger from the kids menu, The Double Decker burger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and Paul’s signature Wahl sauce and The Felix Burger, which changes monthly and £1 from the sale is donated to The Felix Project. I had to try the BBQ salmon rice bowl, with steamed jasmine rice, barbeque aioli, rocket and pickled red onion.
To complement the mouth-watering menu, you will find a selection of drinks and cocktails. We tried the Passion Fruit martini, with Smirnoff vodka, vanilla syrup, passion fruit puree, lemon and a side of prosecco. We also tried the Max-arita with Don Julio Reposado tequila, lime, agave nectar, crème de cacao and chocolate bitters.
To end a great family meal, we shared the house made chocolate fudge brownie, served in a metal skillet with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. We couldn’t leave Wahlburgers without trying one of their freak shakes. The Fluffa’nuttah freak shake with vanilla ice cream, Baileys, crème de banana, peanut butter and whole milk was simply delicious!
We would like to thank Wahlburgers for such a wonderful family meal, full of tasty dishes and great service. Thank you for having us and we can’t wait to visit you again soon!
You can also visit Wahlburgers and enjoy 25% discount with the code LA25. Apart from delicious burgers, there is also a new breakfast menu, new all-day breakfast and a refreshing cocktail menu with upcoming DJ nights at the WahlBar.
We were invited to attend Wahlburgers, however the opinions expressed in this post are honest and our own.
