Half Term Fun: Imagine Children’s Festival at The Southbank Centre

Looking for a fun activity to do with the family this half-term? Imagine Children’s Festival at The Southbank Centre is full of fabulous activities that will keep everyone entertained.

This year, it celebrates 20 years of Imagine Children’s Festival. I can’t believe it’s the first time we have attended as it has a wide range of activities and events. We went to Peppa Pig: My First Concert over the weekend and absolutely loved it.

Our pre-schooler is a big fan of Peppa Pig so he was looking forward to seeing Peppa and George live. It was wonderful seeing the different musical instruments on stage and discovering how it all came together.

The concert was interactive and we were all dancing and singing along to the live orchestra. It was great how each instrument was introduced to the children and how each part of the concert complemented each other. Peppa, George and Daddy Pig all took part by playing an instrument, which was lovely to see.

There are also other events coming up at Imagine Children’s Festival:

* 19th February – Julia Donaldson and Friends: A Pocketful of Songs: a fun-packed musical show with The Gruffalo, The Highway Rat and others.

* 20th February – Escape with Jacqueline Wilson: introducing new books The Runway Girls and The Primrose Railway Children.

* 20th February – Michael Rosen reading his poems and stories, including his new book Sticky McStickstick.

Free events include:  a family party at Do Your Own Thing DJ Takeover with Heart n Soul (18 Feb), LunchBox Jukebox (12 – 20 Feb) for kids to curate a DJ set, and many more!
