Jimmy’s World Kitchen in Wembley
Last night, we attended an opening event at Jimmy’s World Kitchen in Wembley, located in the London Designer Outlet by Wembley Stadium, one of the biggest outlet shopping centres in the UK. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with a big smile and a glass of champagne.
Our first impression of the venue was the size of the restaurant, large dining area with a mixture of wooden tables and red cushioned booths, there are chefs at the different cooking stations, ready to take your order and explain about the dishes.
Our drinks order was taken promptly and the drinks arrived with no delay. We then walked to see what’s on offer in the buffet. You can eat as much as you want, pick you starters, main course and dessert, using a fresh clean plate each time.
For starters, I had a selection of seaweed rolls from the Sushi Station, containing vegetables and salmon. They were enjoyed with soya sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger.
In the Chinese Kitchen, you can pick your rice or noodle base, select your vegetables, meat or seafood, then the sauce to finish your meat. I picked rice noodles, mixed peppers, spring onions, king prawns with sweet chilli sauce and soya sauce, which was cooked by the chef within a few minutes. My Chinese stir-fry was tasty and full of flavour.
I was pleased to see a large selection of Chinese meals on offer. I tried dim sums, and a crispy duck pancake with spring onions and cucumber, topped with hoi sin sauce, they were lovely.
There was also Thai Green Chicken Curry, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Hong Kong Chicken, Beef in Black Bean Sauce, Pork in Black Pepper Sauce and Chilli Beef. I had a little taste of them and the meat was nicely cooked in the tasty sauce.
In the Salad Bar you can customise your salad by choosing your leaf base, vegetables, fruits, toppings, dressings, and meat and fish from the grill. Jimmy’s Grill House offers a selection of meats cooked to order, you can have Indian, Mediterranean, Oriental or Middle East meats.
My husband tried a steak from Jimmy’s Grill House with a Caesar Salad from the Salad Bar, he mentioned the beef steak was cooked to perfection.
There is also an Italian Kitchen with a Pasta Station where different pastas and sauces are cooked to order. A selection of pizzas can be found at the Pizza Station, where you can order your favourite pizza. Our son enjoyed a slice of pizza and really liked it.
Beside the Italian Kitchen, you find a Mexican Kitchen with a wide selection of fillings and toppings for your burrito, tacos and nachos. I had a taco with pulled pork, topped with guacamole, sour cream and a colourful salsa. The pulled pork taco was absolutely delicious.
After our lovely meal, the whole family enjoyed a sweet treat from the Dessert Station, featuring a wide range of desserts from fresh fruit salad to Indian sweets and cakes. Little man enjoyed a piece of cake with ice cream straight from the machine, topped with chocolate sauce with little pieces of fudge, white chocolate and milk chocolate balls.
We noticed Lemon Posset, Chocolate Mousse, Eaton Mess, Tiramisu, but we wanted to try the freshly made churros in cinnamon sugar and waffles topped with ice cream and caramel sauce, they were a lovely end to our meal.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our family meal at Jimmy’s World Kitchen, there was a wide variety of tasty dishes on offer which appealed to everyone, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant. It is good value for money considering you can eat as much as you want from the different stations and we will be coming back again soon. Thank you for a lovely evening, we all had a great time!
