Lilinha Angel’s World Food & Drink – May 2014
This month, we have been enjoying some lovely food and drinks. They have been tried, tested and included in our monthly Lilinha Angel’s World Food & Drink feature so you can look out for them on your next grocery shopping.

Lilinha Angel’s World Food & Drink: May 2014
In no particular order, those are the delicious food and refreshing drinks our family tried this month:

Little Yeo (RRP £1.75) is Yeo Valley’s new range of children’s yogurt in farm-inspired packaging. The delicious little yogurt pots are made with British organic milk from Yeo Valley farm and farms from the Somerset based organic milk supplier’s cooperative.
Little man really enjoyed the organic fromage frais, he tried Mellows Yellows with peach and apricot yogurt, Merry Berries with raspberry and strawberry, strawberry & vanilla, and mango & vanilla. They are thick and creamy, blended with a smooth fruit puree, with no added refined sugar and no artificial ingredients.

V8 V-Fusion (RRP £1.89) is a delicious juice made from 100% fruit and vegetable juice. Usually juices only count as one of your 5 a day, but one 250ml serving of V8 V-Fusion counts towards 2 of your 5 a day, one serving of fruit and one serving of vegetable.
We tried Passion Fruit, Mango & Carrot and it is lovely and refreshing, combining sweet fruit juices with the earthy tones of carrot juice. It is blended to perfect with no artificial flavours, colours, preservatives or additives.

Tesco Takeaway Pizza (RRP £3.75 or 2 for £6) is a new range of delicious pizzas, packaged in a takeaway style box and served with one of four different dips. We tried Pepperoni Feast, pizza base with tomato sauce, topped with mozzarella, cheddar cheese and pepperoni with a pot of garlic and herb dip. The pizza was delicious and the topping was generous.
We also tried Pepperoni Stuffed Crust Pizza, a three cheese stuffed pizza base with delicious cheese and pepperoni toppings, another lovely pizza. We love the idea of dips to dunk the crisp golden crusts. The takeaway pizzas are perfect for a quiet night in and relaxing weekends.

Oykos Yogurt (RRP £2.39) is a luxury greek-style yogurt, thick and silky with a generous layer of succulent fruit. We tried citrus flavour with lemon, mandarin and orange, and loved the lusciously zesty fusion of citrus fruits. Oykos is hunting for the UK’s tastiest real men together with Amanda Holden.
You can upload a photo of the hunk you think deserves to take home the title of Britain’s tastiest hunk at www.oykos.co.uk/hunks. The favourite, as voted for by the general public, will then be immortalised as a tasty, hunk of a spoon, perfect for dipping into your Oykos yogurt.

Get More drinks (RRP £1.45) are low calorie, vitamin-enriched drinks made with spring water. The Get More range is designed to help adults maintain a healthy and balanced diet, not only are the naturally flavoured drinks refreshing and tasty, they also provide essential vitamins.
Get More Vitamin A in blackcurrant and blueberry flavour supports a healthy skin and vision, while Get More Vitamin D in mango and passion fruit flavour supports healthy bones. Get More Multivitamins in citrus flavour helps keep the body healthy, and Get More Vitamin C in orange flavour supports immune system.

A Little More (RRP £1.09) is the kids’ version of Get More, designed for children over 3 years old. It is ideal to help boost vitamin levels of busy children. Little man really liked the cool bottle and found the taste great.
He also enjoyed reading the healthy benefits on the bottle, and how A Little More Vitamin D mango flavour can support growing bones, A Little More Multivitamins in citrus flavour can help growing bodies stay healthy, and A Little More Vitamin C in orange flavour can support the immune system.

Tesco Weirdoughs (RRP £1.00) are the world’s first cross between mini doughnuts and the traditional savoury flavours you would usually associate with a packet of crisps. They are available in Salt & Vinegar and Cheese & Onion.
We were not sure what to expect of the sweet and salty combinations of weirdoughs, but the flavoured mini doughnuts were surprisingly tasty. Our favourite was cheese and onion, which is also our favourite crisp flavour. Once you try one, you will keep reaching the bag for more, luckily there are ten mini doughnuts on each bag.

Lurpak Cooks Range Cooking Mist (RRP £2.70) is a sprayable liquid blend of Lurpak butter and rapeseed oil. I am a fan of spray mists as it usually means that you end up adding less oil to dishes, making it healthier, without compromising on the taste.
The spray mist is perfect for a crips, golden finish when glazing and basting. It is easy and convenient to use, ideal for greasing pans and tins, and to make sure roasts are glazed and crisp. You can also use it on top of cooked vegetables, pasta and rice.

Santa Maria Chicken & Steak (RRP £3.99) is an aromatic spice mix of coriander, chilli, tomatoes and roasted onions, perfect for chicken and red meat. We were sent it as part of a First Taste Kit for Roast Chicken, together with a Black Pepper refill. I really like freshly ground spices, they add a lovely flavour to dishes.
The chicken and steak grinder has a blend of rich flavour of roasted onions with heat from red chilli flakes and yellow mustard seeds, combined with authentic Mediterranean sea salt, creating a tasty mix to enhance the flavour of meat and poulty dishes.
