Meat Free May and National Vegetarian Week
Meat Free May has started a few days ago, it is a campaign that challenges you to give up meat and fish for all of May whilst raising money for Friends of the Earth. Eating less meat and fish not only benefits you but also benefits the planet.
The aim of the campaign is to show that it is more than possible to reduce your consumption by experiencing a month without any meat or fish in your diet.

During Meat Free May, National Vegetarian Week is running from Monday 19th to Sunday 25th May, where you are encouraged to challenge yourself, your friends, your family and your colleagues to enjoy a week of deliciously vibrant meat-free food.
Tesco are the proud sponsors of National Vegetarian Week, and to celebrate they have created a brand new range of frozen meat-free meals, including fresher, brighter, more delicious and convenient food.

The range is packed with freshness and flavour that cook straight from the freezer in as little as 10 minutes. You can choose popular dishes such as Chicken Style Cheesy Garlic Kievs and Chicken Style Fillets.
If you prefer burgers, you could enjoy Southern Fried Nacho Bean Burgers or Three Bean Sweetcorn and Roasted Pepper Burgers.

We have been trying the new meat-free range and we really like the beef and chicken style pieces, which can be added to dishes and used just as chunks of meat.
We added Beef Style Pieces to a casserole, served with rice, while the Chicken Style Pieces were added to a creamy sauce, served with pasta.

Our favourite dish has to be Green Thai Vegetable Bakes, bursting with authentic Thai flavours of coconut, chilli, ginger, lime leaves and lemongrass. It is a blend of rice and vegetables, which can be served with traditional flat rice noodles, crunchy stir-fried vegetables and lime wedge. We enjoyed our green Thai vegetable bakes with a salad, and it is so full of flavour.
Tesco Meat Free dishes can be found instore and online.
