Articulate for Kids is recommended for children aged 6 to 12 years old, it can be played by 4 to 20 players. It is the junior version of Drumond Park’s popular Articulate game, suitable from children aged from 12 to adults, and played by 4 to 20 players.

Articulate for Kids has been compiled by an education specialist, with 336 cards with over 2000 entries. It can be played alone or with Articulate. The box arrived with the folding board, sand timer, 4 playing pieces and rules.

Both games follow the same simple format. In the fast talking description game, you need to quickly define words as many words as possible without saying the word, from the categories Object, Nature, Person, Action, World and Random.

In each round, the teams divide their members into ‘Describers’ and ‘Guessers’.  The 30 second timer is started, and the Describers take it in turns to describe their way through as many question card entries, from the different categories, as possible to their team members – the Guessers – within a 30-second time limit.

Each team moves its counters around the board, based on the number of words correctly identified – and the object of the game is to reach the finish segment before the opposing team. There are clear Description Rules included in the Instructions.  For example, Describers mustn’t give hints such as ‘begins with’ and ‘sounds like’.

We really enjoyed playing Articulate for Kids, it is a fun way of developing children’s speaking skills, and help to stimulate their creativity and imagination. I love the fact the whole family can play together and have fun describing words!
