I have mentioned several times that I love a cup of tea, and there is only one thing better than tea: afternoon tea with delicious scones, sandwiches and cakes.
Imagine if you could relax and enjoy your afternoon tea while your kids were busy with something else?
Thanks to Gallery Mess, parents can now visit their stylish restaurant for a relaxing afternoon tea, full of mouth-watering food and drinks in a family-friendly atmosphere.
Over the school holidays, we had the opportunity of visiting Gallery Mess at the Saatchi Gallery to try their brand new Little Artists Tea in a relaxed environment.
While we were waiting for our food to arrive, little man was given a kids pack to decorate a chef’s hat. He loved colouring in and designing his hat, which was full of fun activities.
Little Artists Tea has been designed by award winning Rhubarb Food Design to entertain little ones during tea time, so parents can sit back and enjoy.
That’s exactly what hubby and I did, we could chat to each other and enjoy our afternoon tea while little man got busy with his own version of the classic afternoon tea.
Little Artists Tea features traditional tea sandwiches and DIY cupcake, beautifully presented in an easel-shaped plate. Little man was particularly impressed with the chocolate sauce in the paint tube, colourful sprinkles and selection of fresh berries.
He had so much fun decorating his freshly made cupcakes, and the big smile on his face was priceless.
Hubby and I were surprised how quiet little man was during our visit. He is used to restaurants and is a well behaved child, however he was even quieter than usual. He was concentrating on creating funky cupcake designs while drinking his frothy babyccino.
For our afternoon tea, we enjoyed a selection of British sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and jam, lemon cream cupcake, chocolate tart and macaroon with jasmine tea, and a glass of Prosecco.
If you prefer trying a different tea, you could choose from an unlimited choice of Tea Palace’s finest selection, Assam, afternoon blend, chamomile, Darjeeling, Earl Grey, Sencha green, wild berried and fresh mint tea.
We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea at Gallery Mess, the cakes were beautifully baked, while the friendly staff made us feel comfortable and at home.
Needless to say, little man loved his Little Artists Tea experience, and has already asked us to go back for some more creative fun. We arrived early for our booking and could see some of the delicious lunch dishes, they looked absolutely gorgeous – we are hoping to try them soon!
Traditional afternoon tea is available daily from 2:30pm, priced at £15.50 per person, and additional £8.25 for a glass of Prosecco, while Little Artists Tea is priced at £7.50. For more information and to book, please check: http://www.saatchigallery.com/gallerymess/
