De-cluttering and Getting Ready for Spring
Half-term is very enjoyable, but very busy too. We make the most of our week off work by spending quality time together and also doing some much needed chores. I’ve shared this week about the delicious chocolate chip cupcakes we baked, and the lovely sock puppets we made.
Now it’s time to mention about our chores. Due to our busy lifestyle, we don’t get much time to do one-off chores during the week and add them to school holidays’ to-do list. Hubby has been fixing a few things around the house, while I have been in charge of sorting little man’s clothes and de-cluttering his wardrobe.
Spring will be here in a few weeks and little man’s birthday is coming up too, so we need to get rid of old/ small clothes to give space to new clothes. Children grow up far too quickly and their clothes get short in a few months, so it is essential to sort out their wardrobes often.
I must confess I find de-cluttering therapeutic. It is hard-work and it can take most of the day, but I get a sense of accomplishment and achievement once it has been done. Nothing like an organised wardrobe, ready to receive the new clothes as spring is coming soon.
For inspiration, I have been reading a checklist on de-cluttering your wardrobe, which includes allocating a specific date and time, identifying the problem areas, then separating the clothes into different piles so you clearly know what will be kept, thrown away and given to charity. It is very important to keep focused on the task and complete it as soon as possible.
Nothing like storage boxes to create more space in your wardrobe and keep it organised in the long run. Once little man’s wardrobe has been done, I will be tackling our wardrobe – wish me luck!
When was the last time you de-cluttered your wardrobe?
