Half Term Fun: Chocolate Chip Cupcakes Recipe #FloraFamilyFun
Half term has arrived, and we are looking forward to a fun week ahead, full of baking, crafting and family days out.
Although we appreciate the lie-ins and relaxed days, sometimes we get a little stuck for activities to do and keep little man entertained. Luckily Flora has teamed up with parenting author, Tanith Carey, to write a guide inspiring family to craft and bake during the school holidays.
We will be trying different activities from the guide this week. If you follow @LilinhaAngel on Instagram, you might have spotted pictures of our first activity: baking chocolate chip cupcakes.
Flora Buttery’s Family Fun Guide contains easy and tasty recipes, arts and crafts ideas and games to play. Each activity needs no more than five things that you can easily find at home, and takes no more than 15 minutes to prepare.
Little man loves getting busy in the kitchen and absolutely loved making the chocolate cupcakes. They are easy to do and delicious. We had such a lovely day together. Although it rained all day, we kept busy baking and eating cakes.
This is the recipe we used:
- 115g Flora Buttery
- 115g caster sugar
- 2 medium eggs
- 115g self-raising flour
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder mixed with 2tbsp water
- 25g chocolate chips
- 55g Flora Buttery
- 225g icing sugar
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder mixed with 2 tbsp water or milk
- chocolate malted balls to decorate
- Preheat the oven at 180C/ gas mark 4.
- Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat with a wooden spoon for 2-3 minutes until well mixed.
- Spoon the mixture in 10-12 paper cases or greased bun tins.
- Bake for around 15-20 minutes, until soft and springy to touch. Cool on a wire tray.
- Mix icing ingredients together and spread or pipe onto each cake. Decorate with chocolate malted balls.
What are you up to this half term? What are your favourite recipes to bake with kids?
We received the ingredients to try Family Fun Guide from Flora Buttery, however the opinions expressed in this post are honest and my own.
