Heart-Shaped Hazelnut Chocolate (Nutella) Brownie Recipe
We love Valentine’s Day, it is a perfect excuse to tell our loved ones how much we love and care!
Before little man was born, Valentine’s Day used to be all about dressing up and going on a date with hubby. Although I loved our romantic dates, I enjoy Valentine’s Day even more now.
For us, it is all about spending time together as a family and spreading the love. Little man gets all excited and looks forward to Valentine’s Day as he knows we will have fun together.
This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday 14th February, so it is a perfect opportunity to get in the kitchen and bake a sweet treat with little ones. When trying to decide what to bake, we were after a simple and easy recipe, which can be enjoyed by the whole family on Valentine’s Day.
While we were doing our weekly shopping at Aldi, we picked up a couple of jars of their hazelnut chocolate spread, which is delicious and tastes just like the branded version. We then decided to make hazelnut chocolate brownies with only three ingredients – can’t get any easier than that!
Heart-Shaped Hazelnut Chocolate (Nutella) Brownie Recipe (makes 6-8)
You will need:
- 1 jar (400g) of Hazelnut Spread
- ½ cup of self-raising flour
- 2 eggs
Method:
- Pre-heat the oven to 180C/ Gas Mark 4.
- Grease and line a baking tray.
- Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into the baking tray and smooth the top with a spatula. Alternatively, pour into individual heart-shaped silicone cases.
- Bake in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Leave it to cool and cut into squares or your desired shape.
Not only little man loved making the brownies, he enjoyed eating them too.
As it is still very cold, he suggested enjoying the brownies with hot chocolate and marshmallows, which we also picked up during grocery shopping.
Enjoy!
