Making family chores fun! :)
I believe that everyone should get involved doing housework, cooking, cleaning, tidying up!
I am teaching my little boy to help to put toys away at the end of the day by making it fun. We usually sing a song: “This is the way we tidy up, tidy up, tidy up. This is the way we tidy up all the day long”.
By singing the song, he loves doing it and we tidy up really quickly. It doesn’t seem so much of an effort and we end up with lots of spare time to read bedtime stories.
We are also getting little Paulo involved with cooking and he loves it.
My husband is a chef, so we send the boys to the kitchen on weekends for quality time together, and a little break for mummy! It’s a “win-win” situation!
In this picture, little man and daddy are making a lovely fruit salad, with pineapple, watermelon, raisins, apples and lots of other fruits. Little man had loads of fun helping dad in the kitchen and he really enjoyed eating it too.
Pancake’s Day 2012, little Paulo wanted to be a chef like his daddy and make pancakes.
I must admit his pancakes were lovely and he was all proud of it. He’s not even 3, but he really enjoys helping us.
I think the secret is to make it fun, enjoy family chores together! We spend lots of quality time in the kitchen making cupcakes and Paulo loves it!
I hope he still helps with family chores when he grows up!
Fingers crossed! 🙂 x
